This Mobb Deep track was the first hip hop record i ever bought on vinyl. It was definitely from some skate video at the time, my guess is one of the 411’s. Skinny straightedge white kids skateboarding to Mobb Deep in a Border’s parking lot…..I’m sure Prodigy was thinking of us when he wrote, “po po comes around and tries to relocate me lock me up for ever but they can’t deflate me.” Although, I may have developed some rare blood disorder from all that permanent marker on my hands.

This new mix was scheduled to be released by Valentine’s Day but a series of unfortunate events/laziness prevented that from happening in a timely manner. It was originally intended to be a collection of songs for a late night baby-making session but sort of evolved more into a straight up feel good, appreciate the one you’re with, drive around with the windows down, kickflip a manhole cover soundtrack to not letting this place get you down. This one’s more about sitting back and letting the music breathe. No fancy mixing trickery, no presumption, no nonsense .
