So I was all ready to post this new Iggy Azalea track and call it a night, until I stumbled upon this soundcloud mix by a new production duo dubbing them themselves Gucci Vump. Upon further investigation, turns out it’s a collaboration between well known producers Brodinski and Guillame of The Shoes. The mix is made up entirely of original productions, most of which are eerily moody, trodding along at a gentle pace, weaving in an out of detuned vocal samples and bouncy percussion. Recommended listening environments; face down on a cold cement floor, in mezzanine seating at a Knicks vs Pistons game, in a mid-80s rust colored Trans Am going the speed limit, and/or in a comfortable chair while eating a sandwich. Never really gave Echo & the Bunnymen and honest shot throughout the years, but I must give credit where credits due. I heard Ian McCulloch play an accoustic version of this song on Mark Ronson’s radio show ‘Authentic Shit’ and I must say, the dude’s still got it
New Kid Sister off her “Kiss Kiss Kiss” mixtape that was released back in November I believe, and a Jamie Woon track that I can’t believe I hadn’t posted sooner…must have been in my year long on & off hiatus, shoot.
My immune system is failing and I don’t have much to say, other than I wonder how many rappers are stuck in a studio somewhere trying to come up with a witty Joe Paterno verse.

Here I am, crawling back, just another bittersweet reunion after weeks of physical absence and emotional neglect. Will this hot/cold, on/off, will he or won’t he (post) relationship fall to the wayside, or flourish with the eagerness of a dozen Mormon virgins? There’s no predicting the outcome of this Beverly Lewis novel, guess we’ll just have to see how this one plays out. Don’t worry, throughout all of this, I’ll be on the edge of my seat with you.

It’s been a surprisingly good month for top 40 hip hop, and real slow for everything else. I’ve been slacking real hard on this site and I know I always say I’m gonna stay on top of it, but for real, this time….I’m gonna stay on top of it.
