And the Boys

My Itunes has plummeted into new depths of disarray and disorder.  This little gem was buried between a really bad Animal Collective remix and Andy Williams’ “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”  Also, some Bill to beat the heat cause its probably one of the best songs ever.

Angus & Julia Stone – And the Boys

Bill Withers – Kissing my Love

Evolution of a Song

Just caught wind of this new Roots track, which aside of being very good, heavily samples Joanna Newsom’s “The Book of Right-On”.  So track back a couple of years, somewhere between the time when the Roots started to read Pitchfork and Joanna took up harp lessons, Pocketknife gave the track a kick drum and made it danceable.  Then, this Clouds dude comes along, flips the track completely and drowns Ms. Newsom in bass.  Right on!

The Roots – Right On

Joanna Newsom – The Book of Right-On

Joanna Newsom – The Book Of Right On (Pocketknife\’s Scowling Owl Remix)
